Periodic Façade Inspection
Drone Aided Building Façade Inspection
The Periodic Facade Inspection (PFI) regime was introduced by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) in 2020 to help building owners detect and address any facade deterioration and facade defects, with emphasis on potential critical defects. High Rise Buildings are required to inspect their façade every 7 years. As a densely populated country, the need for a robust high-rise building façade inspection method in Singapore is crucial. Manual building façade inspections are becoming harder and more dangerous as our building designs get higher and more complex.
To combat against rising costs and potential safety risks, Spyder Access deploys drone-assisted and artificial intelligence to detect critical façade defects. Singapore Standards Technical Reference (TR) 78-1:2020 provides the specifications for the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) to conduct inspections of existing building facades.
Spyder System can deploy a comprehensive building façade inspection service via its bespoke drone-assisted fleet, aided by its automated Façade Reporting Software, augmented with Artificial Intelligence for defect analysis. Helmed by our Certified Pilots (UA Pilot Licence), our team deploys our drone tethering technology, fully in compliance with the standards set by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) to ensure an efficient operation and safe approach.
