The Spyder Story
Every building begins with construction.
Its true life begins with maintenance.
Since Singapore's independence in 1965, the nation has grown rapidly into one of the world's leading cities. As the skyline continued to rise, maintaining completed buildings became a very different challenge from constructing them.
Once buildings became operational, conventional access methods were not always practical for routine inspections, facade cleaning, repairs and other high-level maintenance works. Building owners and facility managers needed safer and more flexible ways to reach difficult-access areas.
That challenge inspired the creation of Spyder. Founded in May 2008, Spyder System Pte Ltd was established to meet the growing demand for specialised building inspection and maintenance services.
The name "Spyder" reflects the agility and precision of a spider, reaching places that conventional access systems cannot easily reach. In the same way, our rope access specialists provide safe and efficient access to high-rise and difficult-access areas.
Licensed by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Spyder developed its own in-house rope access team, with personnel trained to internationally recognised standards. Our capabilities have since grown to include facade inspection and rectification, cleaning, waterproofing and leak repair, painting, glass replacement and other specialist high-level works.
Event cleaning has also been part of Spyder's operations since 2008. Today, we provide flexible cleaning support for events of different sizes and requirements, from smaller private and corporate events to sporting and public events.
Spyder later expanded into commercial kitchen exhaust maintenance, with a dedicated team serving demanding operational environments including healthcare, hospitality and institutional facilities.
Today, nearly two decades after our journey began, Spyder's business is built around three principal areas of expertise: specialist access and facade works, commercial kitchen exhaust maintenance, and event cleaning services.
Across these different fields, the same principle remains unchanged — understand the work, provide a practical solution, and deliver it safely and responsibly.

Our team is one of Spyder's most important assets. Behind every service we provide are technicians and cleaning personnel whose value comes not only from training, but also from years of practical experience, resourcefulness and the ability to solve problems on site.
Our rope access technicians work in high-rise and difficult-access environments where safety, technical discipline and sound judgement are essential. Our commercial kitchen exhaust personnel are specially trained for work involving complex exhaust systems and associated electrical equipment, where the right knowledge and procedures are critical to carrying out the work safely.
The same practical thinking extends to our event cleaning team. At large sporting events, where thousands of participants may discard drinking cups within a short period, our workers developed simple large-capacity collection bins that allow waste to be gathered quickly and efficiently when ordinary bins are not enough.
These are the qualities we value in our people — skill, experience, responsibility and resourcefulness. Equipment and methods may change, but it is our team's ability to understand a problem and find a practical solution that remains at the heart of Spyder.
