Event cleaning is not limited to running events. Exhibitions, food events, fashion shows, corporate functions and other indoor or outdoor events all require professional cleaning support, but the actual work can vary considerably from one event to another. Food events can require particularly active cleaning support because food containers, cups, liquids and food waste may accumulate quickly around dining and high-traffic areas.

For exhibitions, shows and corporate events, the cleaning team also has to work without unnecessarily disturbing exhibitors, performers, guests or event operations.

The objective is to keep the venue presentable throughout the event, rather than waiting until the event has finished before starting the main cleaning work.

Different Areas May Need Different Cleaning Priorities

An event venue is rarely one uniform cleaning area.

Entrances, food areas, public walkways, toilets, seating areas, backstage or support areas and waste-collection points can each have different cleaning requirements.

Post-Event Cleaning

The cleaning team may need to remove accumulated waste, clear bins, clean affected public areas, deal with food and drink residues and progressively restore the venue for handover.

Cleaning equipment, temporary bins and other items brought in for the event also need to be collected and removed after the work is completed.

Visitor numbers, event duration, food and beverage activities, waste volume, operating hours, venue layout, indoor or outdoor conditions and the required handover time can all affect the cleaning requirement.
